2003-06-19 D&G- Nature and lines of flight p234 "Natural history can only think in terms of relationships (between A and B), not in terms of production (from A to x)." So true! There's something important about Fordism (the production line metaphor) as the ultimate Push, and the telic-like atelic pull of change in nature. I like the "lines of flight" thing in D&G: That in the changes in the rhizome can follow pull (and d.te./r.te.) but still be directed -- or at least have a tumbling action, like dominoes, a "line of flight" where each step is more or less inevitable given the surroundings, what has to be done, and what's proceeded. So given a social situation, and social norms, and your opinions etc, there's only a given number of things you can do, and you follow the path to the end. Hm. Stuff to think about.
